The 17th Printemps Musical opens with German violinist Linus ROTH and Croatian guitarist Petrit ÇEKU. The artists offer their own transcription of Vivaldi's 4 Seasons.
It's a great pleasure to welcome and present in Saint-Tropez two musicians of such talent and complicity as violinist Linus ROTH and guitarist Petrit ÇEKU. The program includes Arcangelo CORELLI's sonata n°12, followed by Antonio VIVALDI's 4 Seasons, Opus 8, n°1 to 4.
Linus Roth attended Professor Nicolas Chumachenco's preparatory class at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg, Germany, before studying with Professor Zakhar Bron. He then continued his studies for several years with Professor Ana Chumachenco at the Universities of Music in Zurich and Munich. During his studies, he received a scholarship from the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation. In October 2012, Linus Roth was appointed Professor of Violin at the "Leopold-Mozart-Zentrum" at Augsburg University, and is also Artistic Director of the 10th Augsburg Leopold Mozart International Violin Competition. Linus Roth is also artistic director of the international Ibiza Concerts festival, which he founded, and of the Schwäbischer Frühling music festival in Ochsenhausen, Germany.
Linus Roth plays the 1703 Stradivarius violin "Dancla" - on loan from the L-Bank Baden-Württemberg Music Foundation.
Petrit CEKU graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Music in the class of Darko Petrinjak and from the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore (USA) in the class of Manuel Barrueco. He teaches chamber music for guitar at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria. His recordings have been released by Naxos, BuntArt and Eudora records. Çeku's album The Cello Suites, featuring Bach's six cello suites, was nominated for an ICMA award. Continuing his collaboration with the director, Petrit Çeku then composed the original music for her feature film "Vera Dreams of the Sea", which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2021.
Petrit ÇEKU is a D'Addario artist and plays on a Ross Gutmeier guitar.
