Conference - Gabriele Münter

Lecture presented by Hélène LEROY, chief curator, head of collections at the Musée des Arts modernes de Paris and curator of the exhibition.

Co-founder of the Munich-based Blue Rider group, Gabrièle Münter (1877-1962) is one of the most prominent female artists of German Expressionism. In an art world dominated by men, she created an extremely rich body of work spanning six decades, and developed a powerful, original language. As part of the first retrospective of her work in France, this lecture invites us to discover this pioneer of modern art, who began her career in Paris, where she exhibited for the first time in 1907.
