Discover a family business producing authentic wines in the Provencal tradition.
Discover a family business producing authentic wines in the Provencal tradition. Taste the fruit of our passion amidst hundreds of barrels, in the heart of a vaulted cellar unique in the region.
Situated on the southern slopes of the Massif des Maures, in Cogolin, a commune that found its vocation as an agricultural village in the 19th century, but whose human traces date back to the Palaeolithic (30,000 to 10,000 BC). The estate is just a few kilometers from the seaside and the neighboring village of GRIMAUD, where the remains of a medieval castle still stand.
The Audemard family has been managing this vineyard for 5 generations.
AOP Côtes de Provence, Vins de Pays and Vins de Table...all from the 50 ha vineyard.
You cross the vineyard to reach the winery, passing through the farm buildings which house an old flour mill... Discover the cellar amidst more than 180 barrels. We'd be delighted to show you around the bottling or vinification vats. A slide show will show you the techniques used to work the vines and harvest the grapes too! One room houses old family tools.
The following grape varieties are grown here:
- AOP Côtes de Provence red and rosé wines: Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Tibouren,
- AOP Côtes de Provence white wines: Ugni blanc and Rolle (also known as Vermentino),
- Vin de Pays du Var and Vins de Table: red and rosé Merlots, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Cinsault, white Rolle, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Viogner.
The winery is equipped with cutting-edge techniques (automatic plot sorting, vibrating reception cone, de-stemming and crushing if required, 2 pneumatic presses under inert gas, computerized fermentation temperature management, vacuum bottling, cellar air-conditioning), as well as ancestral techniques such as the use of oak barrels (over 180 in the cellar), foudres (large wooden casks) and family secrets...
This is a succinct but representative description of "la Giscle", an estate that I invite you to discover on a walk to the Chartreuse de la Verne abbey, for example, which you'll discover a little further along the road to Collobrières...
See you soon! Viticolement...
The Audemard family.
