Concert - Festival d'automne - Barockissimo

Concert 07/11 at 7pm. To close the 22nd Festival d'Automne, we welcome 3 outstanding artists in a program entitled "Barockissimo! : violinist Geneviève LAURENCEAU, Julien MARTINEAU on mandolin, and cellist Tristan CORNUT.

Carried along by three colorful personalities, three of the most acclaimed soloists of their generation, "Barockissimo!" offers its bright, sunny sounds in an original program. Tackling an original repertoire that draws on Baroque roots, the trio has chosen to highlight the genial creativity of this era in a new light, with pieces by CORELLI, SCARLATTI, VIVALDI as well as HAENDEL and RAMEAU. Our trio of outstanding soloists will introduce us to famous pieces of 17th and 18th century Baroque music.

Geneviève Laurenceau is considered one of the most brilliant exponents of the French violin. Her many activities as soloist, chamber musician, teacher and festival director make her an accomplished musician who lives her passion in all its forms. She plays a Goffredo Cappa violin dating from 1700.

Julien Martineau is one of a very small circle of mandolinists to perform all over the world with leading symphony orchestras. At just 19, he won the Giuseppe Anedda prize at the International Mandolin Competition in Varazze (Italy). Guest soloist at the Victoires de la musique classique awards, he made his debut with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France under the direction of Rinaldo Alessandrini, with whom he recorded concertos by Vivaldi and Calace.

Tristan Cornut won the cello and chamber music prizes at the CNSM in Paris, and has been a prizewinner in numerous international competitions (ARD Competition in Munich, Gaspar Cassado Competition in Hachioji, Japan, Domnick Preis in Stuttgart). He has been principal cellist of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen since 2012, and has been teaching at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart since 2017.
